Job Description

We are looking for a Structural Engineer to lead our in-house team to develop structural designs and contribute to the engineering of modular buildings. As senior structural engineer you will have primary oversight over a team of engineers and draftspersons designing structural designs for volumetric steel modular residential, commercial, multi-family, hospitality, retail and industrial buildings, both in traditional construction modalities, as well as through new innovative modes and methods using new materials and technologies to create better, stronger, lighter, more-sustainable, water and mold resistant, energy efficient buildings.

You will work collaboratively with our outstanding team of dedicated creative teammates, including architects, manufacturing experts, automation engineers, project managers, fabricators, contractors, and other engineers, in the development of new company standards.

The successful candidate will be required to have a PE accreditation and will sign/seal project documents when required.

Specific responsibilities will include:

Performing structural engineering calculations and performance simulations including sizing, selecting, and specifying Structural components and systems and ensure designs are compliant with the company’s principles of design for manufacturing, assembly, and systems integration; preparing drawings; developing and monitoring proposals; scopes and budgets.

This position requires proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, Revit, as well as Structural design software.

Required Experience

  • Professional engineering license, PE is a MUST, S.E a plus
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering and at least 3 years of experience leading a project team
  • Design experience in multi-family, residential, commercial and industrial buildings
  • Experience with steel structural systems
  • A core understanding of current design codes, e.g. ASCE 7, OSSC 2014, ACI 318, etc.
  • Experience applying new technology, software, and scripting to improve traditional design, manufacturing, and construction processes
  • Execution of the structural design and engineering on at least one building project over 100,000 square feet
  • Interest or experience with prototyping and developing new products or design concepts
  • Proficient with industry standard design tools (Revit & AutoCAD) and structural design software (such as Autodesk Advance Steel, Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis, Risa-3D, Parametric 3D Cad, Solidworks FEA)
  • Experience required in conducting destructive and non-destructive testing
  • Experience required in FEA (Finite Element Analysis) experience
  • Detailed knowledge of IBC and UBC families of codes
  • Project management experience including task allocation and supervising junior engineers
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with others in a positive and professional way.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – Motivating, influencing the team to meet or exceed goals in a positive manner.
  • Detail oriented and strong documentation skills.
  • Willingness to show past experience actual, hands-on project examples.

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader with extensive global sourcing experience in building supplies and the construction vertical to join our team of world-class subject matter experts as Head of Global Supply Chain. Your remit will be to:

  • Overhaul our procurement and supply chain strategy, protocols and procedures, introducing best practices in every aspect of our supply chain management and procurement processes including procurement, inventory management, global logistics, administrative processes, office premises, customs, tariffs, insurances, etc.
  • Work hand in hand with our technology team to develop and oversee the implementation of a fully digitized global procurement approach that will include two-way automated communication for pricing, ordering and inventory management, using our existing (Procore and Sage 300 along with new  enterprise and productions management software systems.
  • Identify and qualify best-in-class suppliers from across the globe, negotiate appropriate agreements to assure quality, service and price stability and implement policies and practices to build and maintain successful partner relationships
  • Collaborate with our manufacturing, finance operations, engineering, business development and other functional teams in order to optimize your department’s contribution to iBUILT’s overall success.
  • Define supply chain metrics performance metrics for measurement, comparison and evaluation of supply chain factors, such as product cost, quality, and forecasts.
  • Review and update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.

 

 Requirements and Qualifications

  • 8+ years of global supply chain and sourcing experience in building materials and the construction industry
  • Experience and prior success with digital procurement and supply chain management systems and have hands on experience with supply chain management software including Procore, Sage 300 and ERP programs (enterprise level preferred)
  • Familiarity with procedural best practices in international procurement and SCM; APICS certification a plus
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success

We are seeking a passionate, highly creative candidate with a deep understanding of the differences between design for construction and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly. Experience with volumetric steel modular buildings is beneficial.

The successfully candidate must be a licensed architect and have at least 10 years practical experience designing large non-combustible buildings and must be a subject-matter expert in BIM, OmniClass, Revit, Dynamo and Rhino.

The successful candidate will interact with and coordinate the design of our buildings with our clients, as well as our internal business development, manufacturing, engineering, and procurement teams.

This position requires that you make frequent presentations to our developer clients and can act as the primary design liaison with our clients, as well as oversee the design project management functions of our team.

Required Experience

Education

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  1. Act as the main point of contact between iBuilt’s outside accounting firm and bankers and lead the annual audit process.
  2. Manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department.
  3. Prepare customer invoices and monthly WIP statement.
  4. Develop and perform analysis on job cost reports, provide variance to budget explanations, and work with project managers to reforecast projects.
    Manages annual corporate income and franchise tax returns, gross receipts and sales tax returns.
  5. Responsible for the review and preparation of accruals including job related costs, general and administrative expenses.
    Coordinates the record keeping of all job costs and intercompany transactions.
  6. Maintains controls over all postings and transactions in the general ledger and all subsidiary ledgers, including journal entries, correcting transactions, reconciling monthly WIP.
  7. Create and post monthly journal entries.
  8. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  9. Prepare monthly financial reporting including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, notes and charts.
  10. Responsible for management of treasury functions including cash management, funding requests, and cash flow projections.
  11. Establish, implement, and maintain effective accounts receivable processes, procedures and controls.
  12. Responsible for Sales Tax reporting in all jurisdictions where the company operates.
  13. Experienced in negotiating insurance and bonding coverage, as well as handling the administration of the company’s 401(k) plan.
